I swear I used to have really oily/combo skin but recently (AKA when I turned 30) my skin started to become dry. Maybe because it’s dehydrated from all those glasses of wine? Anyways… my foundation started to look a bit cakey because I usually wear matte liquid foundation because my skin was thirsty AF because it was so dehydrated. I fell in love with Tatcha’s water cream (kinda pricey), tried Sunday Riley’s Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream (meh, not impressed, and doesn’t smell that nice), but wanted to use a gel so it would be super hydrating. Thanks to the L’Occitane team I was able to try their Aqua Hydrating Face Gel, and I’M OBSESSED.
First of all this gel is good for normal to combo skin. It’s super lightweight which I love. I like that it’s not oily, absorbs really well into your skin and doesn’t leave a sticky tacky residue. My skin was literally glowing after using this. It also smells really nice, a mix between clean and floral. It’s not super fragrant that will bother you. It doesn’t have parabens, sulfates or phthaletes.
You don’t need a lot of product. A little goes a long way since it’s a gel. I like to apply this with my jade roller (which I keep in the fridge) so it’s a nice way to refresh your skin in the morning. It’s also only $29 a bottle! I’m telling you this bottle will last you a while!
So why is this product so good? It’s enriched with Réotier spring water from the mountains of Provence and hyaluronic acid (Hyaluronic acid is good to plump your skin). The gel moisturizer acts like a magnet to recharge skin with water, leaving it glowing with hydration all day long. For centuries, a natural water spring has been running at the heart of the Provençal mountains, collecting rich minerals and rising up at the Réotier Spring. Thanks to its high calcium content, this incredible water helps skin maintain its hydration barrier and retain moisture. L’Occitane has paired this powerful Provençal water with hyaluronic acid in an ultra-hydrating face care range, for healthy-looking skin.
Final Thought(s): I love it! I will actually buy another bottle when I run out. I definitely will be using this in the morning and night in winter when my skin is super dry.
